As our colleagues Andrew and Craig continue their cycling journey around Thanet in aid of Cancer Research, we wanted to share some of their latest stats and a bit of back story behind the charity fundraiser…
This month two members of team Oakwood have committed to cycling 300 miles for Cancer Research UK in aid of beloved friend and co-worker Nik Jordan who passed away from Cancer last year. He touched the hearts of everyone around him, so we’ve spent our time since remembering him and honouring his memory by fundraising for charity.
“Nik my friend, this is for you. Every time I ride, you are my motivation - a sad loss to so many friends and family. We miss you mate.” – Andrew’s Fundraising page.
Now halfway through the month, it’s the perfect time to catch up on their stats and see the latest updates on how much has been raised.
Andrew: 188 miles (63% of target)
Craig: 175 miles (58% of target)
In total they have raised an incredible £965 of their £1,500 target!
If you’d like to support them on their way, you can donate to Andrew’s page HERE or Craig’s page HERE. Every penny makes a huge difference to vital cancer research.
Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. You can help Cancer Research UK improve results even faster.
Through those links above, you can also see their cycle journeys around Thanet through Strava, watch their fundraising grow, and keep track of miles cycled.
We’re lucky to live somewhere so beautiful where cycling is such a pleasant way to spend a day. If you see them out and about on their bikes, give them a big cheer and wave! You can also pop into branch to chat to us.
We’re excited to be on this journey fundraising for charities while we continue to help our local community move home! A big thank you to all our customers and friends for your continued support.
