Life outside of work...

Life outside of work...

Oh no he isn't...

Not just an Estate Agent …

Believe it or not - our colleagues have lives outside of selling houses! Take our Craig Durrant for example; when he’s not running up and down the stairs showing potential buyers their next dream home, he regularly ‘treads the boards’ in local theatres acting, singing and occasionally dancing (well moving with rhythm at least!!). His amateur career on the stage (or Luvviedom, we affectionately call it) all started in his early twenties as what he thought would be a fleeting pass time; but after performing lead and principle roles at the Marlowe Theatre, Margate Winter Gardens, The Granville Theatre in Ramsgate in shows such as Half a Sixpence, Oklahoma, Grease  and West Side Story - he was well and truly bitten by the bug!!

After a long break to get married and raise a family Craig is back on the stage as an active member of Theatrecraft based in Herne Bay, performing such diverse roles as a French Poodle in Beauty and the Beast, the egocentric, bigoted womanising boss in Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5, a bumbling detective in a Farndale Murder Mystery akin to The Play that Goes Wrong - and a drunk DSS inspector in Cash on Delivery. Craig would like to stress that none of these roles are typecast - (well maybe the French Poodle!).

As well as working with Theatrecraft Craig has been known to ‘help’ out with the local dance school Jo Jo’s School of Performing arts. His daughter Olivia has been attending there for 11 years now and they always find a spot or two for him for their bi-annual show at the Theatre Royale, Margate.

Craig continues to find roles and shows that appeal and is looking forward to the upcoming pantomime season and a number of shows booked for next year. So watch out for him in your local Theatre and you never know you might even see him on the TV show Homes Under the Hammer as he is regularly featured on there as Oakwood homes are the ‘go to’ agent for the production company in the area.

The gentle crackle of wood, the warm glow of flames, and the snug feeling that envelops a room – there’s something uniquely captivating about a fireplace. For many potential homebuyers, a fireplace isn’t just an architectural feature; it’s the heart of the home.

As we approach the upcoming Budget announcement, many are left pondering the state of the housing market in East Kent and its trajectory. Recent trends suggest a shift in buyer sentiment, with some holding off on purchases in anticipation of clearer economic signals.

The announcement of the Budget often brings a mix of anticipation and concern, particularly for property owners. Whether you’re a seasoned investor or a first-time buyer, it’s crucial to understand how the changes outlined in the Budget might impact your property-related finances.
