Support your local businesses...

These are tough times. We all know of many people suffering right now, but there are things we can do to show our support to those local people in business around us. Here area few ideas that we've come up with that you might find helpful.

Can you buy online?

Many local trades will have a website and some the facility to buy online. We've heard of many shops making big changes to the way they operate, which now often includes home delivery. Can we help our local baker, grocer, butcher or retailer by ordering online? Why not look them up and see what is on offer - after all we have plenty of time to do so!

Buy now - for later...

One thing that we can all do is to buy vouchers to spend later! The lack of business now will affect thousands of trades all over the country, but if we help them by buying vouchers now, it will make a big difference. Who do you know that has a birthday coming up? Local vouchers would be an excellent way to help the local community and businesses at the same time.

Tell others

Most of us spend a lot of time online - in fact the average 'screen time' spent on social media is 144 minutes every day! So maybe in among all that interaction, we could take just 5 minutes to look up your favourite business and write them a glowing review on Google, Facebook or even on their own website. It's at times like this that we need to tell people how we feel - let's do it!

In fact, wouldn't it be nice if we actually told the business? Write them a quick email, or may jump onto their Facebook page and leave a comment about what they mean to you? A thumbs up, or a well done is always appreciated.

Ask

Is there something that a local business near to you needs help with? It might be something you can do from home - craft-work, research, written articles, material to publish? If we don't ask we won't know - show you care about your local businesses and find out.

Some of our staff are still working - can we help anyone with shopping? Would you like someone to chat to? Is there anything else practically that we can do? Just ask - we will be happy to help.
