Make a statement with the flooring

The living room is a public space so use flooring that is inviting and comfortable but also durable. Thick carpet works great but you should also consider wooden flooring. If you do opt for wood then invest in a large rug as a statement piece. Mix textures to give the room some depth and try layering rugs for a unique and daring look.

Light up the room

The living room is often a multifunctional space – a place used for entertaining and relaxing. As a result, your lighting needs to be versatile. Matching table and floor lamps have a great effect and dimmers can also create appropriate atmosphere when needed.
