We've opened a new office in Broadstairs...!
The whole of Thanet is now completely served by Oakwood homes, with the opening of our new office in Broadstairs to compliment our existing branches in Ramsgate, Margate and Birchington...
It's strange how things work out - one estate agent moves off the High Street and we move in!
We have been keen to open in Broadstairs for sometime and when the opportunity presented itself, we jumped in - and we're very pleased we did! Our first week of trading brought much higher levels of business than we could have imagined, with clients old and new all keen to see our new-look, welcoming office, all set up and equipped for today's modern needs.
Did you know that we are the FIRST agent in Thanet to have a fully digital window display, which has attracted amazing interest from passing trade! People stop to engage with the changing displays which showcase a wide variety of property for sale and to let, as well as reacting to our call for property in different parts of the town.
There's more of a story behind it all though....
Oakwood homes first started the business on 31 January 2005 and grew over the years through Thanet to become the leading agent for sales, lettings, Property Management, New Homes and commercial business; so opening in Broadstairs was a perfect fit to geographically complete our presence to offer high levels of service across the group. It now takes our office count to 5 - all in prime locations on their respective High Streets. Our fifth office in Broadstairs opened on exactly the same date and day - Monday 31 January 2022 - our 17th anniversary!
But aren't agents now going online...?
That's an interesting, but misplaced perception! The online estate agent business in Thanet dropped by nearly 48% in 2021 which was similar across the country - with huge numbers of buyers and sellers still showing their strong desire to use High Street agents for their search for property and showing confidence and expectation of a prominent office location. Our research has also shown that people want to deal with people - face to face. Not hidden behind an email or an out of town location they can't even find.... Selling, buying, letting or renting a home is a big investment and one that clients feel more confident with when they can see where you are and know who they are dealing with.
Our Broadstairs office has been fully refurbished to fit in with the conservation area to provide a very comfortable and welcoming space for anyone moving in the area. Footfall is still very high in the town. which itself has thriving independent businesses up and down the main road as we see more and more people making the decision to shop local. During our refurbishment we found many artefacts from previous businesses that have traded from the site, including marketing brochures dating back to the 1950's! Why not pop in and take a look, as we have many of them on display, which are the talking point for many residents who remember what the site has been used for over the years.
